The Government of Mauritius has recently decided to make the development of Information Technology a priority, as this island proceeds from a "labour intensive" to a service oriented or "intelligent" society.
Mauritius is fast developing into a "Cyber Island" with modern facilities and an educated population. A high percentage of the population speaks English and French fluently. There are many international investors preparing to establish IT facilities in dedicated regions or "Cyber Parks". Government agencies are providing infrastructure such as high capacity international satellite links, roads, buildings etc.
